Iowa Code Chapter 915
Victim Rights Act

The Iowa Victim Rights Act affords registered victims a host of pre and post-conviction rights from many state agencies involved in the criminal justice system. A victim must first register with the county attorney prosecuting the offense. Once registered, the Board will notify victims when it plans to interview the offender and provide the victim the opportunity to submit their opinion in writing or at the interview concerning any potential release. The Board will also notify the victim of release decisions it makes regarding the offender.

For a complete list of victim rights, see Iowa Code chapter 915.
